Meet your Hosts

Mike and Karen Goins, along with their rescue dog, Murphy, welcome you to their "little piece of heaven" IN PIPE CREEK, between BOERNE, BANDERA and SAN ANTONIO. They lovingly named their business "Bella" (Beautiful in Italian) and "Green" (because of the green landscape and eco-friendly considerations with all).

It was always a dream to move to the hill country - and in 2007 they moved to Pipe Creek. Here, Karen launched Natural Awakenings healthy living magazine and Mike taught at UTSA. In 2012 they opened up the original Guest Haus to visitors.

Mike is a retired college English professor, a gifted writer and still occasionally teaches creative writing (note: if you're into writing, don't hesitate to ask him about writing at breakfast). He's also an avid reader, B&W photographer, loves sports cars, old trucks, designing breakfasts for the guests, loves frozen margaritas, and of course, the hill country sunsets in addition to connecting to friends world-wide through amateur (ham) radio.  Here's a link to: The Sisters of Immaculate Silence.

Karen is a self-proclaimed "foodie," who loves meeting new people, likes to try new recipes, and dabble in all kinds of art. You can experience her art on the water tanks (Timbercreek location) and in her on-site Art Studio (tours at 11am on weekends).

She also loves everything "wellness" and is an avid thrift-store treasure hunting diva! A former wellness director for two major hospital systems, she taught Entrepreneurship and Communications at the the college level for many years. She was also one of Texas' first LICENSED massage therapists.
